Rural India is the next growth destination. While some marketers have hopped on to the rural bandwagon early and are reaping results now, many have treaded cautiously.

The income levels in the rural hinterlands have been on a rise. With a 19 per cent increase in the per capita expenditure (higher than the urban growth rate), the number of mobile service subscribers has risen to 378 million, and internet is making successful in-roads into the lives of rural consumers. Social media and e-commerce are no longer the things of the future here. Reports suggest that in addition to the 10 metro cities where e-commerce has seen traction, there are as many as 3,133 tier-II and III cities, and 1,233 rural hubs, also embracing the online retail phenomenon.

Since its inception in the year 2005, RMAI has been helping marketers to unlock the potential at BOP through various knowledge sharing activities and events.

RMAI’s Rural Conclave will brings together the most forward-thinking marketers, innovators, entrepreneurs, technology players to unlock new possibilities in rural marketing. The emphasis of this two-day Rural Conclave is on “Navigating the Future of Rural Marketing”. The very first day of conclave is aimed at bringing in the wholesome dynamics of rural marketing progression through rural experts of various domains to provide audiences much sought valuable insights, actionable advises and success stories as key takeaway which they can apply to their own business.

On Day-2 RMAI is initiating a unique networking platform “RUHIVE” for audiences and members to explore the opportunities of partnerships with public sector and government. The platform aims to take forward RMAI’s vision of collaborating and co-sharing of solutions to reach Rural in an effective and cost-efficient way. Coveted takeaways from RUHIVE’s strategic interventions shall be proposals and ideas on how to build scalable, sustainable and replicable models in rural and mutual learning through experience sharing.
